The Branch Library at Shahdara was taken
over by Delhi Public Library in the year 1964. This
Library was started before independence and it was known
as Jawahar Lal Nehru Library Shahdara, managed by local residents.
Now it is acting as East Zonal library of DPL and controlling
office for Sub-branches, R.C.Libraries, Community Libraries
located in the East Delhi area. The service units under the Shahdara
