1.) The DPL provides free library service in the NCT of Delhi. Membership is open to all persons residing in NCT of Delhi. Library membership is free and no subscription is charged for the use of library services.

2.) To become a member of DPL all you need to do is to visit the nearest branch of DPL and to fill the Membership Application Form available at the membership registration counter on payment of Rs.2/=. On one side you are required to fill the details and on the other side signatures of your parent/guardian are required if you are below 18 years. The duly filled membership application should be attested by any responsible person (such as Gazetted officers/Principal/Lecturer/Elected Public Representative/MBBS Doctor/Lawyer/Bank Manager etc.) as provided under the Library Rules but those who are unable to obtain attestation can become member by depositing refundable security deposit of Rs. 50/-.

3.) Once the application form is filled in just return it to the library staff at registration counter and show your current residence proof. We accept Ration Card/Voter ID etc as residence proof. Staff will issue 1/2/3 borrower tickets depending upon the type of the library unit, which enable you to borrow books.

4.) The borrower card is valid for two years. Thereafter a fresh application for membership dully recommended under the Library Rules is required. In case change of address that members should immediately inform the staff at Registration counter for change of address. Please see Library Rules for details.
